Wow, it sounds like there are some pretty low temperatures going on back in Toronto. Brrrrrrrrr. Keep warm.
Yesterday and today were just lazy days for me. Not, of course, in the mornings as I am praticing hard. Today John had us all move through the series in sync trying to keep our breath together and trying to count through the poses. He had started the morning with a theory class about the eight limbs of ashtanga and the importance of counting. It was invigorating to move as a group and despite my slowness I was able to keep up. I stopped after Marichyasana as that seems to be where my body and mind start to lose focus. And I can't sit back in the next pose, navasana, with my bruised hip. John is very aware of when I am at a difficult pose and he is always there to support and assist. I need to finish learning all the sanskrit names for the poses and the counting method. I like the methodicalness of it and I think it will help me to focus on my breath.
After class I had a cranialsacral therapy session with Lucy to work on my hip.
Last night we watched "The Interpreter" with Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn. Tonight we watched the martial arts movie "Hero" with Jet Li. I made some boysenberry crumble (Hadie made some custard to go with it) for a wee snack while we watched the movie.
Tomorrow will be my last full day at Stillpoint as on Friday after class I will be heading to airport to fly to Wellington.
